Poker is considered by many the most popular and exciting casino card game (although the facts are, that blackjack might be the ruling king among the card games). Below we will present the obvious and less obvious facts regarding the game.

Poker is played with the deck of fifty two cards and the number of players at one table usually oscillates between two and ten players. The most popular variants of poker are Texas Hold’em and Omaha. The aim of the game is to collect a hand consisting of the highest possible combination, to outscore the other players and claim the bet.

Before the dealing, the players place the initial fee (ante) and receive five cards each. The next step is to decide whether and if, how many, cards to keep and how many exchange to get the strongest possible hand. Next, they can either raise the bet or fold. When the check is called for, all the active players display their hands and compare them against each other.

The strongest hand wins and takes the full bet. One of the most powerful weapons is bluff – a player can pretend he or she holds a very strong hand and makes other player fold in the process.
